What options are there for hanging up gymnastic rings at home?

There are various ways to use the gymnastic rings in your home or within your own four walls. On the one hand, there is the option of installing a wall bar and hanging your rings on the top protruding rung. A wall-mounted pull-up bar works in a similar way. With both options, you probably have the disadvantage that the rings hang very low and you cannot train all exercises optimally. You also have little distance from the wall with both options, which can restrict your training. The ideal solution is to mount the rings on the ceiling using our ceiling hooks. This allows you to utilize the maximum room height and mount the ceiling mounts for gymnastic rings so that no wall gets in the way of your training.

What is the purpose of the movable ring on the ceiling hooks?

The movable stainless steel ring gives your gymnastic rings maximum mobility in the home. If you set the rings in a high position, the gymnastic rings can still be turned easily despite the short straps.

What is the optimal gymnastics ring setup for the home?

Do you want gymnastic rings for your home and don't know exactly how much space you need for ring training? Then we'll give you a few guidelines on how to plan the rings correctly at home and mount the ceiling mounts so that they are in the right place. To ensure that you can perform all exercises without restrictions, you should plan at least one meter away from the nearest wall in all directions. In at least one direction, you even need three to four meters of space to be able to perform exercises such as rowing or push-ups in an inclined position.

How high must the ceiling height be for gymnastic rings?

With a ceiling height of around 2.60 m, the length of the straps is perfect for performing exercises in a low position. If your ceiling is lower, for example because you want to install the rings in the basement, this is not a major disadvantage. Almost all ring exercises can be adjusted and you can perform pull-ups with bent legs, for example. If the ceiling height is higher than 2.60 m, you will not be able to perform exercises in a low position, such as push-ups, properly. In this case, you can help yourself out with another pair of straps or bridge the gap with a chain or rope.

What is the ideal distance between the gymnastic rings?

In gymnastics, the rings hang exactly 50 cm apart. If you want to mount the gymnastics rings at home, we recommend that you also keep this distance between the ceiling hooks when mounting them. You can of course also adjust the width to your personal requirements, but small deviations from the standard are hardly noticeable during training as the rings will move freely in the room. The distance between the gymnastics rings is therefore also ideal for children.

Can I also mount the ceiling hooks on a wooden ceiling or a wooden beam?

Yes, the ceiling hooks can also be mounted on a wooden ceiling or a wooden beam. The wood screws required for this are included in the scope of delivery. However, before mounting, it is essential to check whether the wooden beam or ceiling has the necessary load-bearing capacity and is sufficiently thick. You can find digital instructions on the correct ceiling installation for rings here.
